Since many years the Nordic countries have a legal, administrative and technical collaboration on civil registration. Among other things the registries share personal data when a citizen is migrating between the Nordic countries. The European Large Scale Pilots STORK, STORK 2.0 and e-SENS have elaborated on registry matching solutions when a citizen in one country uses an eGov service in another country. Implementation of the eIDAS platform is now being planned for in Europe.

Since PID Record Matching is not primarily a common technical activity, but in most countries formally a matter for the citizen registry authority, the scope is wider than the eIDAS implementation.

eGovlab organized an informal meeting for an open discussion, sharing experiences and ideas for national PID Record Matching supporting an extended collaboration between the Nordic countries citizen registries, based on the eIDAS regulation and prerequisites.
